January 8, 2023. Orlando, Fla. - The B4ACUSA Foundation announces successful fundraising efforts facilitating over $20,000 in scholarships awarded during the most recent national awards ceremonies. Ambassadors for the pageant raised awareness and funding for these causes throughout the fall, leading up to the national pageant that took place on January 4-8 in Orlando.
On January 5, over 120 guests gathered at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando to support the Still She Rose mental health initiative during the official Beauties for a Cause USA charity gala. The event included a presentation by former Miss Earth USA Andreia Gibau and Still She Rose author Laura Ashley Cliff. Attendees were encouraged to wear floral theme formalwear. The organization distributed rose seed packs, encouraging attendees to return home and plant rose bushes in memory of Cheslie Kryst. Finally, a record-setting 44 Beauties for a Cause scholarship finalists were recognized.
During the week-long national program, state ambassadors were able to experience the Still She Rose pilot program, including daily reflection, a stress reduction workshop, yoga led by HOTWORX instructors, and the post-pageant celebration and awards brunch featuring a presentation by Miss Earth 2020 Lindsey Coffey.
Remaining steadfast in the organization's mission, environmental efforts were prioritized during national events, including a collaboration with Keep Orlando Beautiful and The Clean Earth Project, removing over 220 pounds of trash from Orlando parks. The Teen delegates bonded together to create and model their own unique eco fashion from donated clothing and textile scraps. Delegates took home eco friendly gifts from Garbo Grabber, 4Ocean, Create Your Cove, Queenly, Executive Reign, as well as distribution of logo water bottles, reusable tote bags, and other items.
Through the People's Choice fundraiser on the Pageant Planet platform, 24 ambassadors were awarded a position in the upcoming second annual charity swimsuit calendar, in partnership with Rosen Hotels, The Code Creatives and Vizcaya Swimwear.
Throughout the year, each Ambassador fulfilled an independent community project, an initiative entitled "Think Global Act Local." These projects were factored into the selection of scholarship recipients for B4ACUSA Foundation grants. Corporate gifts allowed for special scholarship awards selected by those companies or gifted directly to those selected as national ambassadors.
